“Nnoromene,” a word from the Nigerian Igbo language, translates to “I will just sit here and watch/stare at you.”
She sits there, a vibrant splash of color against the deep, unforgiving blackness of the world. Not in defiance , but of quiet, unyielding observation. The world around her, a chaotic blur of emotion, a storm of greens, blues and oranges , but she remains still. The flower in her hair, a single bold red blossom, was a testament to a love once shared, a memory she held close. Her gaze however, was what held the true power. It’s not the glare of anger or look of sorrow, it’s a patient knowing stare ensuring nothing and no one will be forgotten.
